I NEED GOD TO SHOW UP!!
1 Kings 18:21-24
21 And Elijah came unto all the people,
and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the Lord be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And
the people answered him not a word.
22 Then said Elijah unto the people, I,
even I only, remain a prophet of the Lord;
but Baal's prophets are four hundred and fifty men.
23 Let them therefore give us two
bullocks; and let them choose one bullock for themselves, and cut it in pieces,
and lay it on wood, and put no fire under: and I will dress the other bullock,
and lay it on wood, and put no fire under:
24 And call ye on the name of your gods,
and I will call on the name of the Lord:
and the God that answereth by fire, let him be God. And all the people answered
and said, It is well spoken.
● God does great things on Mountains! The
prophet of God needs a response from God but he had to climb up to a new dimension
in God in order to get what he needed!! Nothing in life is free, new levels,
new devils!
● I’m in a painful place, but excited.. Think
about a women who travails in labor, the pain may be difficult but once the
baby is delivered the memory of that thing is turned into joy! You have to
endure until the end in order to receive that promise!
● God does not need a good circumstance to be
good to me! Elijah is backed up into a situation that he must face! WHEN THINGS
LOOK UNFAVORABLE IN THE NATURAL REALM, JUST KNOW THAT GOD IS LOOKING TO SEE
YOUR FAITH IN THE SPIRIT REALM!
● Many
of the people wavered in their judgment, and varied in their practice. Elijah
called upon them to determine whether Jehovah or Baal was the self-existent,
supreme God, the Creator, Governor, and Judge of the world, and to follow him
alone. It is dangerous to halt between the service of God and the service of
sin.
● If
Jesus be the only Savior, let us cleave to him alone for everything; if the
Bible be the world of God, let us reverence and receive the whole of it, and
submit our understanding to the Divine teaching it contains.
● Elijah
proposed to bring the matter to a trial. Baal had all the outward advantages,
but the event encourages all God's witnesses and advocates never to fear the
face of man.
● God is sending fire to show he is GOD IN
YOUR LIFE.
● He is on a mountain by himself, he climbs a
mountain…… He left the ordinary thing
and challenges himself to go where no one else would go
● The mountain represents the place of
expectation! You have broken past the boundaries in your life!
● You have to loose the old identity….every
time GOD does something he first does a name change
● God changed Jacob's name to
Israel, because Jacob struggled/wrestled with God, and the new name was granted
to reflect the change. Abram was changed to Abraham. Note that names meant
something significant
● God is the only God that will release us
from our stuff and make us NEW!
● Stop trying to impress people and impress
God!
● God is bringing a change in Elijah's life
● God says if you want to see my glory you
must come to a higher place.
● Anytime you try to do better, someone or
something will try to hold you back.
● When God shows you greater, you walk away
from less!
● WHEN GOD IS ABOUT TO DO SOMETHING IN YOUR LIFE, THE ODDS WILL BE STACKED
AGAINST YOU! BUT YOU MUST COME INTO AGREEMENT WITH GOD!
● GOD WORKS IN THE POWER OF AGREEMENT!
● What God brings you out of, you will never go back! I am delivered!
● Be careful when you read the word, with all
your getting, get understanding!!!
● Stay in tune with God through relationship
● When you are in relationship with God, even
when he slays you, you will still trust him
● Better Days are on the way!
● THE POWER OF AGREEMENT- GOD IS FOR ME SO
WHO CAN BE AGAINST ME!!
● IT’S AGAINST YOU BUT COUNT WHAT IS FOR YOU!
GOD IS FOR YOU!
● THE DEVIL MIGHT BE AGAINST YOU BUT GOD’S
POWER IS FOR YOU!
● GOD HAS GIVEN YOU THE AUTHORITY TO SET THE
RULES BY TOUCHING AND AGREEING!
● WHEN YOU'RE ISOLATED THE DEVIL CAN MESS
WITH YOU, BUT THE LORD SAID YOU CAN TOUCH AND AGREE!
● YOU ARE MORE THAN A CONQUEROR IN CHRIST
JESUS!
Thank
You, Lord for all the ways You show everyone that You are God. Just as You did
to Elijah, show the people You are their God, an ever present help in trouble.
Amen.
