KEEP LIVING!

James and Paul are not diametrically opposed in their revelation of faith. Paul's justification of faith introduces us to God bringing peace and a new beginning in that relationship. The focus of James is to introduce faith connected to related works that sustain us now that we are in relationship with God. In a sense we did no work to gain His love and acceptance..His salvation or forgiveness...but the faith supported by effort or work is to see the manifestation of God as we continue to walk with Him! One of the ways to constantly see faith revealed is to simply LIVE!..The absence of all the apparent necessities of life leaves believers with the essential option of living by and on faith! The only way we have survived beyond explanation is that we have kept LIVING on FAITH!

THROUGH THE BIBLE - Psalms

David...Asaph..the sons of Korah..Solomon and Moses teach us through the Psalms how essential praise and worship is the experiential relationship with God..David affirms that in order to make us PRAISERS... he must provide the experiences that result in and generate praise...He must give us something to praise him for! ..so the answer to life and the solution to life is introducing the spiritual gift of Praise..David experienced much which resulted in the creating of psalms that expressed the experience with God..let our experiences shape our expressions..#Faith2StartOver

THROUGH THE BIBLE - Job

The conversation about Job occurs in heaven with the impact happening on the earth in Job's life. When life happens how often is it the result of a decision that God made about you. The hedge must be lowered. The permission and access granted..and the parameters of the test agreed long before impact. It is apparent God wanted to bless Job but not in a conventional way. Are we prepared for the path and the process that God has selected to accomplish your abundance? Your latter will be greater than your beginning!

THROUGH THE BIBLE - Esther

God is not mentioned but absolutely implied throughout the book of Esther. When you do not see God's hand discern his handiwork! When God organizes and orchestrates events it is difficult to see the big picture and the overall outcome. God positioned Esther long before he revealed her! God influenced Mordecai to raise Esther.. Hegai to find favor with her before she even met Ahasureus. Favor opens opportunities that fate cannot shut! Even though Esther had position in the Shushan Palace her reach was Kingdom wide. The anti-Semitic attack was not against the palace but against those in the Kingdom. Where you are is positional..but your reach is exceptional! Esther was helped into the right place and she finally did the right thing! #Faith2StartOver

THROUGH THE BIBLE - Ezra & Nehemiah

Both Ezra and Nehemiah received passion to accomplish a specific assignment. Passion begins with a burden..it emerges out of something that is broken in you that you never want to see anyone else broken by. Their assignments both came with challenges internally and externally. The external challenges are slightly easier to process...however the internal occurrences prove more difficult to overcome. Ezra to rebuild the house of God..to ensure worship is restored! Nehemiah to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem to ensure that the threat of the Temple being destroyed is minimized. Opposition did not prevent provision. Accept the assignment and favor will follow!

LOSE THE WEIGHT WHILE YOU WAIT!

Waiting for anything is a learned behavior. It is no wonder that patience is considered one of the most valuable and essential virtues in life. Yet David provides the formula and principle to accomplish the wait thing! So in Psalms 27:14 he says " Wait on the Lord, be of good courage and He shall strengthen thy heart. Wait I say on the Lord". Obviously the first suggestion is when dealing with God you are going to have to learn the strategy of waiting. Why? because God is so good at doing what He does He is never in a hurry, never frustrated, and never pushed by anything. God can change a thing when He is ready to change it or more importantly when the thing has arrived at the appointed time and schedule to change. Yet the answer to waiting alludes so many of us so the Psalmist points out that one way to not let the wait consume you is to encourage yourself about the reason and purpose for waiting in the first place. If waiting is not challenging enough then our adversary employs another challenge to the wait. While we are WAITNG on God, the adversary will often times place a WEIGHT on our WAIT to discourage the purpose for the wait. The answer of every believer is the release of praise to remove the weights while you continue to wait on God. The struggle is not intended to prevent you from achieving. When you learn this you can dance with your struggle because that is indeed what you will be doing at the conclusion of the struggle season. So keep waiting, be of good courage and allow God to strengthen your heart and deal with the WEIGHT!

THROUGH THE BIBLE- Joshua

Joshua was well equipped to handle the responsibility of leading Israel because he had served his mentor Moses well. Joshua is mentioned throughout the history of Israel being identified in the battle in the valley of Rephidim, as one of the twelve spies who evaluated Canaan and being present with Moses on Mount Sinai when the ten commandments were given. The book of Joshua represents the arrival and conquest of Canaan the promised land of God. Moses led Israel out of Egypt and as far as east of Jordan but because he disobeyed the command of God by striking the rock twice at Meribah instead of commanding it as God commanded. Joshua now after the death of Moses is stirred by God to finish the assignment which was to gain access to Canaan. The assignment is bigger than a person or a personality. Joshua leads Israel as God leads him. Moses represented the past..Joshua represents the future!

ANOINTED TO GO THROUGH

Everything surrounding Jesus is founded on significance. Even though in the 12th chapter of John he is in the midst of revolving scenarios he remains the focus and attention. Jesus is as the table with Lazarus whom he has just raised from the dead (just practice before his own resurrection)..and in walks Mary Magdalene another one of his miracles. There is no mention that Lazarus offers thanks to Jesus for his miracle but it was clear what was on the mind of Mary. There was no gift to precious..to expensive for her Lord. How do you put a price tag on a life changing moment? As her demons had been poured out of her..Mary pours her gift..her precious ointment on the feet of her precious Savior! Even though the response from the disciples was mixed she presented her gift in the middle of them all. Of course the ointment could have been used for different purposes but that would not have been her purpose. Her gift was connected to her miracle. In the midst of all of these people and only Mary discerned that Jesus was beginning to carry the weight of his assignment much less the weight of his cross. Mary had been broken and discerned in her Lord the signs of someone about to go through! So she anointed him not just for his burial but for his resurrection. Just like Jesus was anointed to go through..so are you!

SOMETHING UNUSUAL IS GETTING READY TO HAPPEN

Peter and John in Acts chapter 3 were on their way to the Temple for regular and routine worship. Their plans were interrupted by a man with a need. It's funny how God will disrupt our habits and traditions to make us face the real reason we go to worship..one of which is to notice that the people who should be in our churches are not even there! This lame man had been brought to sit at the gate beautiful out of habit. Peter and John meet him on the way to the temple out of habit! It's about time our habits talk! The lame man asked for alms...his usual request. Peter replied "Silver and gold have I none!"..his usual response. Rather than continuing his walk to the Temple Peter breaks from his usual response and realized what this man was asking for was less than what he needed and more than what Peter anticipated. Something has got to break our beloved traditions...our rhythums...our proclivities and propensities! God will always use the usual and ordinary moments in our lives to unveil the unusual..extraordinary and miraculous. Instead of alms the man received a future..let God give you something unusual in our usual and casual day...expect it!

WHERE THERE IS NO CHALLENGE THERE IS NO CHANGE!

The two greatest segments of preparation that leadership or individuals must navigate is CHANGE and CHALLENGE. In an ever transforming and shifting world the ability to understand these two requirements remain crucial. I have always thought that change was a negative thing. Think about whenever someone has stated that you have changed. The first impulse is to defend the fact that you have not changed. Change means growth...that's a positive. Change means movement and positive advancement. Without the right attitude and mentality you may misinterpret change as working against you rather than working for you!. Anything that is alive in God's universe must grow..expand out live past levels or expectations. When you embrace change it opens the door to a greater and more complete you! The way that God encourages us to change is through CHALLENGE!  James teaches that it is the trying or frustration of our faith that works patience. God uses many disconnected strategies to push our faith. When God pushes do not push back..push on to your knew level. Ask yourself honestly today what is God working on and in you?  1 Samuel 17 is classic! David when delivering lunch to his brothers stumbles on a moment and opportunity that immediately challenges him. Without the taunting of the uncircumcised Philistine..Goliath the opportunity to rise to the leadership of Israel would not have presented itself. Do not ignore the opportunities that God presents for CHANGE and CHALLENGE..ALECHEIM shalom..unto you peace!

THROUGH THE BIBLE - Numbers

Never let it be said that God does not have a plan! The census or numbering that God instructed Moses to perform was for several reasons. Obviously to establish and document the military might of Israel because now they are in transition...meaning out of Egypt and in the wilderness...other opposition not Pharaoh would be their challenge. However it was not the fighting power of Israel that would secure their march..into the Promised Land. ..but obedience and confidence in God. Numbers teaches us that even in transition in the wilderness things can go horribly wrong if the reverence of God is not the focus. This could be the difference between an 11 day or 40 year journey!
Israel followed Moses but they were also assured by the presence of God as a pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night. Natural and supernatural confidence. Wherever the cloud settled that's where Israel settled. Oh to follow God like that!

A WINDOW IN A DOOR

Ask and you shall receive...seek and you shall find. .knock and the door shall be opened. Matthew 7:7 reveals the principle that governs every universal issue. However the applied principle is in Matt 7:8 for it is to the one that persistently asks..seeks and knocks that tangible things are produced.  The reason why the persistence is necessary because for every open door there is a window of time in which the opportunity exists. Walk through the door by walking in the window of purpose.

THROUGH THE BIBLE STUDY - Part 1

Our church has been studying THROUGH THE BIBLE taking a cursory review of each book of the Bible with the view of establishing a complete scriptural foundation to strengthen our reliance on the power of His word in our lives. Our time in GENESIS was fruitful expanding our understanding that we should not sell ourselves short with what God has provided. Adam was directed to tend and work in the garden of Eden but was commanded to be friutful..replenish..take dominion and subdue the earth. Dominion expands our understanding that the jurisdiction was for Kingdom rulership..and not garden management! Our time in EXODUS reveals that even after 430 years of enslavement with generations being born into a non-free..environment there were those who would not accept that their circumstances did not match the ability and power of their Jehovah!..Someone understood it was time to get out and the cry for freedom led to the rise of the greatest leader of Old Testament history..Moses!. Our time in LEVITICUS brings us into how God really does desire to create opportunities for his people to return to fellowship through sacrifice. If it does not cost you something it is not sacrifice..the investment of sacrifice creates the path for atonement and release!. The Burnt Offering. .Meal Offering..Peace Offering..Sin offering and Trespass Offering are all ways back to God..God's religious law serves to guide us in the pathway of reconciliation and redemption..if He did not love us..why would he show us the doors to return to Him!..Follow our study on Tuesdays @ 700PM in Baltimore. .and Wednesdays @ 700PM in Largo..www.pjedmund.org. .ALECHEIM..SHALOM..unto you be PEACE!

WASTED TIME BUT STILL ON SCHEDULE

There is a time and a season for every purpose!. The one entity that challenges all of us is the tactical management of time. It is the one thing that we cannot control. Since it cannot be controlled it must be respected. Time respects no one yet demands the utmost respect. What we do with it and how we spend it is remarkable.  It's amazing that time can be lost..thrown away..ignored...idled away and yet the opportunity still remains to make up for all that has been wasted. God still uses the time issue to prepare you for seasons of more effectiveness and accomplishment. Even when missed. .God still allows us to reach our destiny with the time we have left..be late in time and be on schedule by purpose!

HUNGRY FOR KINGDOM

If everything connected to God was simply released by the ask then where would be the endeavor..the strive..the try!..It does not mean that the principle in Matthew 7:7 is not relative. It is not just the ask but the intensity with which the ask is asked!. When you are hungry an appetite is created. In order for us to connect to the purpose God desires for us. When excited about Kingdom..God creates the appetite and the hunger for Kingdom. How do you know?..Dissatisfaction!..Yes dissatisfaction is the stage before next level Kingdom !..Just like emptiness precedes hunger...dissatisfaction precedes advancement...get hungry for KINGDOM!

WORK YOUR FAITH UNTIL FAITH WORKS!

When James presents faith it is actually a companion to the Paul presentation of faith. Paul presents a faith that draws or connects us to God "therefore being justified by faith we have peace with God" (Romans 5:1). It is what we believe that a relationship with God can produce in our lives that attracts us to Him. Furthermore God must insert faith into our hearts so we have the tools to believe Him totally. The James faith is a sustaining faith. There is faith that brings you to God and a faith that sustains you while in relationship with God. James says that faith must be represented by works or effort. In other words if you have faith you have to do something remarkable to demonstrate the faith that you have. Faith is not what you say it is what you do and risk to do!

YOU CANNOT DIE WHEN YOU LIVE BY FAITH

James teaches us in 2:26 that "as the body without the spirit is dead so faith without works is dead". The believer is sustained by the promise of the future and is inspired not by current events but the life imagined. As long as faith is in existence the end of anything cannot be realized. It is not because we earned the right to receive the promises of God because we can never cause God to be better than He already is in our lives. He is good because of His own value and personal excellence. As long as we live on and by faith we defy the consequence of the end of anything. Faith grows beyond conclusions and the end of expectations. Life beyond the end!
